In recent times, the journey has been working with wonderful people such as you to build the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Centre, and especially the Wellness Centre which you know is so dear to my heart. Now, I’m taking one more step on that journey – all in the fight against cancer! You see, in April, I am leading a team of incredible people for 21 days along the Great Wall of China in what we’re calling "The Great Walk to Beijing 2008!" We’ll be walking hundreds of kilometres, over some really challenging sections of the wall, passing through deserts and mountains and battling through 40 degree gradients. The tough conditions and harsh physical challenges are designed to show the world a little of what cancer patients face on the journey to recovery. I’ll be inviting along with me friends from the world of showbiz and sport. There will be Olympians, and brave everyday cancer survivors, and we’ve already got great support from worldwide media. This is one of the biggest events I’ve ever been involved in, and it’s a huge step in helping us build the Cancer Centre. Because you’re such a special friend in the fight against cancer, I wanted you to be among the first to know what’s happening. Our official ‘launch’ will be in February, but you can join my team now and receive special updates by signing up at: I’m really excited at what we’ll achieve with The Great Walk to Beijing 2008. Yet even as we take these steps in the fight against cancer, I know we do so only because wonderful friends such as you are walking alongside us already. Love and Light Olivia |
